Santa Cruz City Schools wants all of our families to know that you have the ability to set limits on your kids’ use of school chrome books at home!

 

First, it's a great idea to set physical limits by telling kids to making it family policy to plug-in chrome books somewhere like the living room where you can see them. These rules can encourage good habits and build responsibility around technology and screen time.

But we also offer access to tool called GoGuardian that provides digital controls for families.

​

What you can do with the GoGuardian app:

• Block websites on school-issued devices during out-of-school hours

• Pause internet access on school-issued devices during out-of-school hours

• Schedule times for the internet to turn on and off automatically.

 

To access the app, simply:

1. Download the app on the iOS or Android App Store

2. Enter the email address registered with the school. (If you forgot your registered email address, please reach out to your school administrator.)

3. Login/Check Email: Check your email on your phone for a link to log in to the app. Tap the "Verify your email", and it will take you straight to the app. Note: If you don't have access to your email through the device you used to log in, tap on "Login with verification code", and copy and paste the verification code from the email into the app.
