Family & Student Mental Health Fair WEDNESDAY April 2!

Dear Santa Cruz City Schools Families,

You are invited to our Mental Health Fair on Wednesday, April 2nd at 5:30 at Harbor High School for an evening of workshops, resources, food and connection!

We want to make it simple to access and navigate the wealth of mental health resources available to families—both on campus and in your wider community. To help, Santa Cruz City Schools is bringing our partners all to one place to make it easy to connect with the tools and people that can help you and your students. 

Come to get to know county-wide resources in mental health, get food, meet our students support team, meet other families, and attend our expert-led informational session around common student Mental Health challenges.

Partners at our table fair:
Buena Vista community resources Center, Say Yes to Therapy, Senderos, The Companion Project (Family navigation for Mental Health Resources), NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness), District Food Services, Lotus Collaborative (eating disorder, anxiety & depression treatment and support), The Walnut Avenue Family & Women’s Center, Community Bridges, County Tobacco Use Prevention & Education program

Parent Information Sessions (you will have time for 2 sessions):
  1. Substance Use: (focused on tobacco and cannabis vaping) and the Related Effects on Mental Health and Well-Being (Presented by County Office of Education)
  2. Know Your Rights (Presented by Senderos)
  3. Impact of Technology on the Developing Brain (Presented by district Social Workers)
  4. Coping with Stress (Presented by Community Bridges)
  5. Vigilant Parent (Presented by the Santa Cruz Sheriff's Department)---this presentation is 90 minutes and will take both session slots!
