The Climate Justice Club at Harbor High School
The Climate Justice Club met during the 2023 spring semester to design materials for a project that promoted native bird species and how we as a community can work together to keep their natural habitat safe. The project included scientific illustrations, stickers, tote bags and handmade recycling kits. To purchase stickers and tote bags please see the link below.

Upcoming Events at Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History
Explore the nature of Santa Cruz — wherever you are! Connect with local experts and join your community in deepening understanding about nature, science, and stewardship online and in-person.

Youth for Climate Justice
Santa Cruz Climate Action Network (SCCAN) seeks to address the current Climate Change Emergency. More information about Youth for Climate Justice events and programs can be found below.

Nature Club
Nature Club takes young explorers (6th-8th grade) into local habitats to learn about the amazing living world around us while making discoveries along the way. Programs are led by Museum staff with kids dropped off at rotating locations, including local parks, open spaces, and of course at the Museum! Exploration and activities help kids learn more about nature through observation and experience while developing a deeper connection to nature and making new friends.

Saturdays in the Soil

It’s time to get your hands dirty! We’re excited to relaunch Saturdays in the Soil, a monthly volunteer program in our native plant garden. Learn about local ecology, native plants, and sustainable gardening while coming together as a community (in a physically distanced manner!) to steward Tyrrell Park through the City’s Adopt-A-Park program.
Volunteer opportunity: Saturdays in the Soil

Camps that connect kids to nature!

Through exploration, experimentation, and experiences outdoors the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History hopes to inspire future scientists. Join us to discover a passion for nature, learning, and community. All Nature Explorers camps connect campers to their environment in fun and exciting ways that engage their natural sense of curiosity while supporting academic success.
