Registration

Please Note: To be eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) enrollment, your child must be turning five years old from September 2nd through December 2nd.
To be eligible for Kindergarten enrollment your child must be five years old on or before September 1 of the year in which the student enters kindergarten. California Kindergarten Eligibility Requirements

Step 2. Register your student using the online registration portal.

New Students:
Parents must use the online registration portal to begin registration.

The following documents are required for registration.  You may upload them into the portal during online registration or contact the school to make other arrangements:

  • Copy of Immunization Records Immunizations for School Requirements
  • Verification of Age (birth record, birth certificate, baptism certificate, passport or affidavit of the parent, guardian or custodian of the minor)
  • Proof of Residence (PG&E or water bill)

Returning Students:
Back to School documents will be available in the new parent portal on July 28th. All legal guardians were sent an email on July 28th with a link to create their Parent Portal accounts in Infinite Campus, our new student information system.  Parents are required to complete these documents in the portal by August 10th in order for their students to be scheduled into classes for the first day of school.

Attending a school other than your school of residence

 

We offer the opportunity for students to attend a school outside of their neighborhood's attendance boundary.

For Intradistrict in the 2021-22 school year, the priority filing period for Middle and High Schools is January 13 through February 8, 2021. Applications will be available January 13th, 2021. Please download the application, complete and return to the District Office of Santa Cruz City Schools, 133 Mission St., Santa Cruz, CA 95060, Fax: 429-3450 or via email to [email protected] by 4:30 pm on February 8th (secondary). In the Elementary District, applications will be accepted from February 18th to March 8th. Please download the application, complete and and return it to your school of residence.

Intradistrict Transfers
Students living within Santa Cruz City Schools District that wish to apply for a transfer to a school other than the school of their residence, must apply for an Intradistrict Transfer. Intradistrict Transfers will be granted if space within the school requested exists for a new student. Please use the link below to complete the application:

Interdistrict Transfers
Students living within Santa Cruz City Schools District and wish to attend a school outside the district must complete an Interdistrict Transfer from Santa Cruz City Schools. Please use the link below to complete the application:

Students living outside Santa Cruz City Schools District that wish to attend a school within Santa Cruz City Schools must initiate an Interdistrict Transfer request at the school district of their residence.
